JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) has recently approved the Halal International Authority (HIA) as a recognised halal certification body in Italy.HIA is also known as Halal Italy. Currently they are the only halal certification body in Italy recognized by both JAKIM and MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council).This is indeed good news as Italian producers can now apply Halal certificate in their own country instead of having to refer to neighbouring countries.
